NEW YORK (May 2006): A new team of medical consultants with ASAL's Lipodissolve development group announced efforts on new studies on effective cellulite treatment and cure. The protocol of the study will be lead by Dr Gustavo H. Leibaschoff, a known authority on cellulitis and the author of the book, Physiopathology of Cellulite.
A new study on the effective treatment of cellulitis with Lipodissolve will begin in affiliation with ASAL in the mid portion of 2006. The announcement was made by Dr Gustavo Leibaschoff, a renowned medical authority on cellulite treatment and the author of, Physiopathology of Cellulite. Dr Leibaschoff who is residing in Texas is a newly elected team member of ASAL's Lipodissolve development group.
Dr Leibaschoff announced on May 12, 2006, that unified international efforts will be made to compare new treatment approaches for cellulite cure with Lipodissolve. The study will also investigate whether Lipodissolve in combination with mesotherapy and new aftercare methods will bring further cosmetic improvements on difficult to treat cellulitis than already established medications and treatment procedures have shown to do.
These studies will focus on comparing the effectiveness of lipodissolve versus other available treatments for cellulitis. In addition the study will compare combination therapies with Lipodissolve. All patient data will be collected through videocapillaryscopy.
Videocapillaroscopy is a new technique allowing a noninvasive examination of the capillary framework of the skin by using a contact probe with magnifying lenses and a cold-light epiluminescence system. The aim of the use of videocapillaroscopy, is to study the microcirculation of the skin.
Luis Romulo Coll, MD, in a published report in The International Journal of Cosmetic Surgery state that "The videocapillaroscopy with digital processing of images in cosmetic medicine and surgery is an ideal method of direct studio about the microcirculation. It allows you to make a qualitative and quantitative analysis. Today, we know that the panniculopathy edematosa fibroesclerosa (cellulitis) is consequence of a microcirculation alteration. Therefore, videocapillaroscopy in cosmetic medicine and surgery can study this esthetical pathology in order to diagnostic, evaluation, treatment evaluation and investigation."
Dr Leibaschoff is a new team member in the American Society of Aesthetic Lipodissolve's (ASAL) Lipodissolve development group. Dr Leibaschoff has over 20 years of experience in cosmetic surgery and has a passion for non-surgical procedures. Currently, mesotherapy is known to offer the best treatment option for cellulitis while Lipodissolve use in cellulite cure has been left in the shadow of its use in localized fat reduction. Dr Leibaschoff has performed over 30,000 mesotherapy procedures over the past 25 years and more than 1000 Lipodissolve treatments in the past two years. Dr Leibaschoff says, "There are many misconceptions in the United States about mesotherapy, and especially the notion that mesotherapy is Lipodissolve. In actuality these are two fully different treatments, but on certain conditions these therapies may complement each other. Our aim is to find out if and how this is possible." The studies will commence in collaboration with medical centers in USA, Australia and Argentina in 2006.
