Sponsored University research to investigate adipocyte apoptosis induced with natural compounds and Lipodissolve

New York (September 2006) -- ASAL has been offered new collaborations with a national Research and Development company that is developing nutraceuticals to control and alleviate obesity and osteoporosis.

Obesity is a major health concern, especially in the US and is closely linked to several medical conditions, such as heart disease, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, etc. A  significant proportion of obese or overweight people look for ways to decrease their body mass and maintain a healthy weight. Although there are many methods and products employed for weight control, most prove to be ineffective for the vast majority of people who try them. Dieting merely reduces the size of fat cells, which tend to remain more or less constant in number. These cells eventually regain their original size in most individuals. There are many weight loss pills/liquids in the market today, most of them based on little or no scientific research.

Obesity and Osteoporosis are major health concerns in the world that take heavy tolls of human and financial resources. It is estimated that obesity and osteoporosis cost the US approximately $100 billion and $17 billion a year respectively. New efforts has identified several compounds from natural sources that have strong inhibitory effects on fat cells. Present efforts are being made in gathering evidence that this may be an effective method to control obesity and maintain long-term weight loss.

ASAL's research consultants have identified several natural compounds that have strong inhibitory effects on adipogenesis, the process of generation of adipocytes (fat cells). We are developing synergistic combinations of these compounds that will have an even greater effect on adipocytes. These compounds cause adipocytes to self-destruct, by a process called apoptosis. This causes a reduction in the number of fat cells, which is a long-term weight loss solution.

A spokesperson for ASNA said, "The information we have at hand at this point is very promising and we are excited to be a part of this project. We are already well aware that Lipodissolve results improve further with proper aftercare, and the addition of natural compounds. We hope that these new University studies that are in planning will give positive scientific evidence for oral supplements that can complement the treatment."

"The purpose with Lipodissolve is not to offer a quick-fix solution to weight related issues that avoids responsible changes to a poor lifestyle. Rather, the patient should be instructed in lifestyle improvements for overall betterment of health and be guided to long-term changes that maintains a healthy and balanced living".
