Lipodissolve® integrated in 'The ASAL Mini-Lipo' procedure
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (May 26, 2005) - The ASAL Mini-Lipoplasty: Liposuction in a syringe, minimally-invasive liposuction-like procedures by innovative surgeons are making spot-reduction of fat and body contouring a reality.
No matter how carefully you eat or how hard you work out, sometimes you just can't get rid of fats pads on the outer thighs, love handles or post-partum baby bellies. Your only recourse to date has been traditional liposuction, but for small problem areas liposuction can now be replaced with nonsurgical options.
Many people reject surgical liposuction because of the cost, downtime, pain and inconvenience involved. Some patients are unable to undergo surgery for medical reasons, yet still want to remove stubborn fat pads.
Developed by innovative cosmetic surgeons as an additional option to Lipodissolve injections, the 'Mini-lipoplasty' procedure is integrated into their normal surgical skills and solve the concerns of traditional surgery and patient reluctance for surgery by combining elements of tumescent liposuction with Lipodissolve injections - with no downtime. Lipodissolve injections is a proprietary medical treatment that shrinks fat cells.
Prior to the Mini-Lipoplasty, the patient comes for one session of Lipodissolve injections a few weeks prior to the main therapy. These injections penetrate into fat and mobilizes the fat during the waiting period. Lipodissolve contain medications which promote a high rate of fat breakdown, tighten the overlying skin and block new fat accumulation.
On the final procedure in a 1 hour session, with the patient fully awake, prescription medicines containing a cocktail of mild pharmaceutical agents that breaks down fat is injected into the problem area. Then the process is reversed; fluid and fat are slowly and gently removed with a syringe and fine cannula.
One risk of traditional surgery is suction of too much fat, leaving unsightly gouges, grooves, irregularities and loose skin. To minimize this risk, the Mini-Lipo removes about half the fat of traditional liposuction, yet surprisingly yields Maximum results. The remaining fat cells and overlying skin actually continue to shrink during the next few months with a good skin retraction effect, thanks to the pharmaceutical components in the Lipodissolve injections. Because tissue firms up with the treatment, a saddlebag Mini-Lipo not only alters the body shape and improves clothing fit within two weeks, but it can actually give a butt lift as an added benefit. And the results are sustainable.
The absence of vigorous suction and large cannulas creates a patient-friendly procedure with minimal pain, swelling and bruising. Instead of being bedridden, patients are sent directly to work or home without any post-operative rest. They're back to work right away after their instant makeover, seeing results within a few weeks.
The Mini-Lipo is undergoing trial with ASAL surgeon consultants.
