ASAL has appointed new research groups in the United States for Lipodissolve in 2006/07. The protocol for the research groups will be supervised by Dr Ruth Hillelson, MD, FACS (Medical Director of American Self) and Dr Gustavo Leibaschoff,
(President of the International Union of Lipoplasty), Scientific Advisor with ASAL.
The groups will focus on the further development and improvements on Lipodissolve injections for skin retraction and reduction of localized fat deposits.
Lipodissolve
studies will be emphasized on Lipodissolve use for correction of surgical deformities after liposuction, mini-lipo procedures, pre-operative to mobilize fat prior to large volume liposuction, skin retraction studies, lipodissolve in combination with other therapies. Patient safety has been well proven from previous data although long-term studies are needed.
The ASAL aim for 2006-07 is comparisement and booster studies.

ASAL has terminated Dr Franz Hasengschwandtner's employment with ASAL. The decision which was made in May/June 2005, took effect in November 2005 at the completion of Dr Hasengschwandtner's term.

Research References
Several studies on Lipodissolve by ASAL faculty and discussions on safety of fat reduction with micro-injections have been published in medical journals in Europe and the USA. More publications are in process. Safety reports on the lipids and other medications used in the protocol have been studied and published for more than 50 years in medical journals worldwide.
